3D Architectural Renders of Cultural Shell in Diriyah
Project Title: Cultural Shell in Diriyah
Location: Diriyah, Wadi Hanifah Valley, Saudi Arabia
Project Type: Performing Arts Center & Cultural Complex
The architectural concept centers on a contemporary cultural venue inspired by the traditional Saudi Ardah dance and the historical context of Diriyah and Wadi Hanifah. The main building, a Performing Arts Center, features a dynamic movable shell—referencing The Shed in NYC—that expands or contracts the space based on performance needs.
Designed to merge heritage with modernity, the project incorporates flexible performance and educational spaces, a courtyard with panoramic views, and materials such as stone, patterned glass, and ETFE to blend with the natural and cultural environment. The design emphasizes adaptability, public engagement, and Saudi identity through form, function, and materiality.
